Shannon Brown is Back with the Lakers!

After opting out of his contract after winning his 2nd straight NBA Championship, the man who fly's high is back. Brown will be back with another 2 year contract just like last year, but with a little salary increase. If Brown had not opted out of his contract at the end of the season, it would of paid him $2.15 million for his final year of his deal.

The TOTAL for his new two year deal is $4.6 Million, with a player option for the second year. This small increase is well deserved as Brown increased his career average in points (8.1), rebounds (2.2), and assists (1.2). That is nice and all for stats, but the reason why it's a big deal is because he brought a lot of energy and production for the bench. In which the bench was very inconsistent throughout the season but pulled it through for the playoffs.

Plus, Shannon is 24 turning 25 this season and we're not the so young guns of the NBA like we were 2 years ago. Shannon was heavily pursued by the New York Knicks but stuck to his intentions of staying with the two time defending champs. All he wanted to let everyone know was that "It's time to go get number 3"
